It’s a new year and the beginning of my poker blog.   When I think about the things I want to accomplish in poker this year I have to focus on the things I don’t like about my game right now.  The number one thing I want to accomplish this year is to get rid of the weak part of my game.  When I get tired or bored I tend to play very weakly.  That has to go.

The second thing I have to do is get rid of the fear of going out.  We don’t get to play as often as we would like so I tend to over protect my cards.  Often I know what the play is but I don’t make it because I don’t want to risk going out.   I’ve been making some progress in this area but have to continue to work on it.

I need to concentrate more at the table.  I need to work on paying attention when I’m not in the hand.  Having a bit of ADD I have a problem in this area so it is probably the area in which I need the greatest improvement.

I need to learn to go on the offense more.  I tend to play passively and need to recognize when to go into aggresive gear.    Along with that I need to work on my table image to use it more to my advantage.

I’m sure that there are more of these things for me to work on.  I’ll discuss them as the year progresses.
